The Government was never meant to control any form of religion, and religion was never meant to have their hands in any form of politics. Our ancestor the puritans left England because they didn’t want the government telling how to practice their faith, so it would be fair that the religion shouldn’t be telling government how to govern. Yes, the founding fathers didn’t actually say anything about separation of Church and State, but they didn’t want the government telling them how to pray or who to pray to. In a modern society where there are over five thousand religions in the world and about over two thousand of those being practice in the United States, should tell you why neither should have their hand in each other’s pockets. Even with the ones trying to make religious laws thinking their religion is the only one that should matter, and that is not true at all.
I really hate when people say we are a Christian Nation, we are not our founding fathers wanted everyone to fallow their own beliefs and religions. Matter of fact the founding fathers took a Masonic point and not talk about religion during business of the country, they actually did keep religion and politics separate business, which is the best idea.
Religious Right groups insist that the United States was designed to be officially Christian and that our laws should enforce the doctrines of (their version of) Christianity. The U.S. Constitution is a wholly secular document. It contains no mention of Christianity or Jesus Christ. In fact, the Constitution refers to religion only twice in the First Amendment, which bars laws "respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," and in Article VI, which prohibits "religious tests" for public office. Both of these provisions are evidence that the country was not founded as officially Christian.
Politicians have a right to practice their whatever religion they want no matter who disagrees with them, just as any American Citizen of the United States does. They should not use their religion to make laws or regulations that would hinder people of other religions and beliefs. Which brings me to certain religions wanting to force their beliefs onto every student and teacher by saying that they need to have religion in public schools. STOP forcing religion onto people, they have a right o follow or not to follow if they want, it’s not up to you what someone else wants to believe in. If you want your student to learn religion, then send them to a private religious school, and stop trying to get religion into the public schools, where it doesn’t belong. You don’t need to force others of many different religions to follow yours.
As mentioned earlier there are over two thousand religions practiced in the United States alone and under the first Amendment which has four parts makes every religion on an equal footing and no one religion is better than another. So, people have a right to practice their religion without being told that they have chosen wrong or are practicing aa fake religion.
So, with that knowledge Congress and Our Schools would get less done, if they had to honour and seek every religion into the schools. So logically and ethically it is better to keep religion where it belongs in the religious buildings, at home and at their private educational centres where people share the same beliefs as you. The groups that are pushing religion down everyone’s throat need to stop and get off their high horse and realize they are just like everyone else.
Religions overstep their authority when they start demanding politicians to do something to make their religion the only one that is right and should be practiced. If you want your religion to be respected, you must respect other religions as well. Respect can not be forced upon or told to through fear and intimidation. Respect is earned through showing respect and giving others respect freely. When someone tells this to the religious person they automatically become “Snowflakes” and begin to get angry that you are disrespecting their religion, which is farther from the truth. They are just respecting yours along with all the others.
Such as matter that deal with Roe v Wade, these religious groups are up in arms about this, you know what get over yourself and if you don’t want an abortion don’t get one, that is your right. Even with the same-sex marriage law, it has no effect on you so move one and let others be, and you don’t support same-sex marriage don’t get one. These are that simple and yet the religious people tend to make it all about them and harder than it really is. Live your life without telling someone else how to live their life because of your religious views.
When a religion tells a person who to or not to vote for it is time to remove that religions tax exempt status, no matter what. Religions really shouldn’t have tax exempt status in the first place, because they are more of a business than a religious institution but that’s for a different discussion all together.
And when a religion tells their people that you need to vote for this certain person, it’s time to find a new religion because voting should be of your own free will. This tells you that the religion doesn’t care about your own personal thoughts or ideas, they just care about their power and keeping the candidate in office that will give them that power. They as a religion shouldn’t be supporting any candidate.
